Zumba has helped me get (and stay) motivated to work out. I have always been very active and athletic; but since I graduated college, I haven't had an athletic team to be a part of--to motivate me to work harder. With Zumba I am able to dance, work out, have fun, and feel like I am part of something bigger. I am definitely an addict.
ReplyDeleteZumba is fun (as if nobody knew that)! But, really, I hate working out usually. With zumba, I look forward to working out. It gives me a lot more confidence. I remember the first time going, feeling like such a fool shaking my butt in front of people I barely knew. Most people still know me as being fairly shy, but I have come out of my shell so much more since doing zumba. And, really anything that helps you lose weight is a plus! It has most importantly opened up the friendship door for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the people in zumba! I haven't had friends that are SO fun in my whole life! It really is like a party and not a workout, because I mostly want to go to see people and dance around with everyone! And, none of it would be possible without you, Allison! You seriously are an amazing, gifted person. You have more energy than anyone I know, you get up there with a giant smile for the room even on days you feel like crap, and you make everyone feel like your family. We love you so much and could never thank you enough for showing us what it means to be part of a "zumba family"!!! :)
ReplyDeleteZumba is incredible! I've become quite the gym rat the past year, but Zumba is the only class I am always EXCITED to go to. I go to all the other ones because it's good for me and I know I need to exercise, but none of them are as fun as Zumba is. It's a great way to feel energy, not just within myself, but energy with the music and with everyone else in the room. I think you have a gift to do what you do, and everyone absolutely loves going to class just because they know you'll be there, smiling and excited as ever. Working out and burning calories makes endorphins, which makes me feel better on a bad day. That's why exercise always helps my bad moods or headaches or whatever I have. But Zumba is both fun and it's exercise, so I feel better on every level when I do it. I'm exhausted physically, but my mind and my spirit are always so psyched when I'm done. It gives me a sort of high that nothing else does. Life can get serious, so being able to just go crazy, look stupid and laugh at myself a few times a week is necessary.
